To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to submit this letter of support for Donna Washington who seeks to participate in a storytelling event sponsored by your organization.

My association with Ms. Washington that spans a number of years began when I planned a storytelling workshop for the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She came highly recommend and rose to the occasion in stellar performances which immediately captivated the audience in moods audaciously reflecting her personal charm and the compelling storylines of her selections. Her use of voice and body were strident yet delicate, sassy yet subtle, but always appropriate for the moment of character and action. In addition, she has transferred this superlative talent to the printed word in her picture books. The strong sense of narrative remains her signature and it is the audience of readers or listeners who are the fortunate beneficiaries of an exceptional storyteller. Since our first meeting, I have had subsequent opportunities to watch Ms. Washington. Each time has been succeeded with a better performance. I look forward to each appearance with ebullience and satisfaction knowing that I will not be disappointed.

It is without reservation that I recommend Ms. Washington and feel assured you will share my enthusiasm and gratification.

Do not hesitate to contact me if I can provide additional information.

Sincerely,
Pauletta Brown Bracy
