Brother Sun and Sister Moon (Single Story)

Brother Sun and Sister Moon (Single Story)

This story comes from West Africa. I read this in a collection of tales some years ago, and then I heard it told by several tellers. I discovered that there were Native American versions of this story as well as a Caribbean version. I have no doubt there are many other versions of which I know nothing. It is about the perils of excessive pride and stubbornness.

This story is featured on Donna’s story collection, ‘Troubling Trouble’. It is a collection of tales from all around the world about getting into trouble as well as getting out of it. It is family friendly and great for all ages.
